Applications may be filed starting Oct. 1 for year 2017 competitive grants from Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation, the local non-profit that distributes funds from Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson.
The grant application form is available on the Grow Greene website: growgreenecounty.org. The website also contains rules for grant eligibility and other requirements.
Competitive grant applications must be postmarked by Jan. 31, 2017. Nine copies are required, in hard-copy form. The Grow Greene mailing address is Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation, P.O. Box 437, Jefferson, Iowa 50129. Filing online is not permitted.
Grow Greene competitive grants are for $35,000 or more. Grants in smaller amounts from casino funds are awarded by the Greene County Community Foundation.

In April of this year Grow Greene awarded more than $900,000 in competitive and non-competitive grants at the organization’s first awards ceremony, held in the Greene Room at the casino. Those grants represented Grow Greene’s proceeds from the first partial year of the casino’s operations. The 2017 grants will represent a full year’s worth of proceeds from 2016.
